Grassroots Development and Empowerment Action Platform
Youth Advocacy

Grassroots Development and Empowerment Action Platform’s Youth Advocacy program is out to help young Cameroonians especially those at the grassroots to make informed and responsible decisions concerning their livelihoods, have the right to receive complete and accurate information on sexual health, have their rights respected. In addition, GDEAP also believe that the youths in this country should be fully involved in community building programs initiated by outside actors or local government with the young people possibly involved in designing, implementing, evaluating programs and policies that have a direct bearing on making Cameroonian youths more self-reliant.

Youth Advocacy
GDEAP hopes to carry this information to the grassroots level by reviewing the underlying youth advocacy concepts of:
  • Power.

  • Citizenship.

  • Duty-bearers

Youth Advocacy
Through this advocacy program, the youths at the grassroots should fully acquaint themselves with the following:
  • Understanding how an advocacy campaign works.

  • Learning as well as practicing techniques for advocating one’s rights.

  • Leaning to asses as well as minimize risks.

  • Learning to plan an advocacy campaign.

The youth of the country must be taught to act responsibly and they also must be ready to do everything in their power to protect themselves. Through the Youth Advocacy and Youths Right program, we hope to ensure that young people are equipped and taught to act responsibly so that they can be the building bridge of future leadership.
