Grassroots Development and Empowerment Action Platform
History

Grassroots Development and Empowerment Action Platform (GDEAP) is a community oriented voluntary organization that was founded in the year 2008 by Luke Nchichupa; a passionate grassroots youth rights activist, campaigner for women and elderly grassroots population, an award winning social critic on community transparency and accountability, and a researcher.

GDEAP was founded with the idea that no one is born an activist, but one becomes one due to circumstances, and anyone can become an activist for a cause, provided they are ready to work hard to stay focused and bring positive energy that will bring about positive change.

GDEAP has evolved from being a concept focused only on improving the lots of youths between 2008-2010, to a more holistic organizations that focuses on GDEAP’s "Supply Chain" – children, youths, women and the elderly. Strengthen by events in my own community between 2012 and 2013, Grassroots Development and Empowerment Action Platform is fully engaged in bringing about sustainable development and the needed change through different programs over a longer period of time framed in VISION 2025 to attain the organizations vision.
